Signal Mountain is our home, and it's where my wife Rachael and I are raising our two children. Wherever we have lived over the years, we have always tried to abide by a simple mantra: bloom where you're planted. For us, that means investing in the place you call home, using your gifts to serve the people around you, and leaving things just a little better than you found them.
I grew up in this area and graduated from Baylor School. I spent most of my career in finance — working across investment banking, equity research, and investor relations — and I try to bring that same analytical rigor and diligence to public service. I currently serve as Vice Mayor on the Signal Mountain Town Council, on the Board of Directors of Sculpture Fields at Montague Park, and as Treasurer of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. Rachael serves on the Vestry at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, the STEPS Board, the Town Parks and Recreation Board, and the Signal Mountain Library Board.
My approach to public service is simple: make decisions based on facts, not politics; spend taxpayer money like it's your own; and never forget that the people you serve always come first.
Spend wisely. Grow carefully. Govern honestly.
Signal Mountain carries one of the highest property tax rates in Hamilton County. Residents deserve a council that treats every dollar with discipline — finding real efficiencies, building a sustainable budget, and never passing today's problems on to tomorrow's taxpayers.
The pressure to overdevelop Signal Mountain is real and accelerating. Our roads, sewers, and schools are already strained. Growth will happen — but it must honor our Land Use Plan and protect the small-town character that makes this community worth living in.
A town this small should have the most transparent government of all. Every resident deserves to know how decisions are made and why. I am committed to open meetings, honest communication, and a consistent standard of accountability — full stop.
